Well just now I am very very happy!! I have just completed my last essay!!!!!! YYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! I'm just waiting for it to print now - it seems like everyone is printing of their work all at once just now. So I think that I might be here for a while yet :'-(
So I really didn't do much this weekend. I must admit that I bought Take That's greatest hits album. Its so weird cos I was never really into them when they were around (I was always a Boyzone fan!) but I do like their music now.
Grrr.... just realised that I hadn't included my bibliography on my essay so will be in the library for even longer..........
On Sunday I went to Partick Baptist in the morning. The minister had us singing Hallelu Hallelu Hallelu Hallelujah Praise Ye The Lord in Spanish. It was really funny. I'm not too sure how it went down with all the old people in the Church (as they are mostly older people) but it was certainly different. Also when he was reading from the Bible he read the first two verses then other people in the church had to read two verses until the reading was completed. Unusual! But he was a missionary in the Andes in Peru and that was how they did it there. So I guess it was quite interesting really. I'm sure that it would have worked with a bigger congregation though. We sang some carols which was really good. One of the old ladies, who I'm not sure if she is really in her right mind of not, was really getting into it and was really enjoying it so that was great. It was a real shame cos Susan wasn't there this weekend, she was probably working, but that is my last weekend here before Christmas so I would have liked to say Happy Christmas to her. Stayed for ages after the service talking to Jean, and then later her husband Fraser. They are really lovely people, very friendly. I also met a lady called Iris, who was so sweet. And also Janette. I'm meeting more people each week which is great.
Got up at 4am this morning to do my plan for my essay. You may think that I'm mad but I find it much easier to get work done in the mornings after I've had a good sleep. I can't function at night when I'm really really tired. I think I will be going to bed early tonight, although at least I can sleep in tomorrow and won't have to be at the library at 8 o'clock!!!
I can't wait to get home for Christmas. The Hackers are coming over for lunch on Sunday so I am very excited about that!! I can't wait to see Ben and Bethan - they are just the most lovely, cute children EVER!
Anyway, gotta sign off as my bibliography is about to be printed!! Then I'm going to go and hand in this final essay!!!!!!!!

sorry about the lack of posting - ive been so busy with essays (only one more to go! YAY!) and as my computer broke I can only get the internet in the library which is a bit annoying really! My mum is coming up to Glasgow today to pick up my computer to take back to Darlo and find out some things for the insurance. It is funny how dependent I was on that computer - I feel lost without it!! I haven't really got a lot of news purely because I've been so busy.
I can't wait to get home for the hols next week - although I will have to revise for the exams after the Xmas break. What a pain!!! I'm really bad at revising but I'm actually going to try this time!
I still have to buy some Xmas pressies - so stressful!! Well to be fair I think I've only got 2 left to buy and as one of them is Christine's I'll have to do that soon before I go home - don't worry I know what I am getting!!! I hate Christmas shopping when it is near Xmas cos town, especially Glasgow, is so busy and I hate large crowds. Xmas shopping in June is ok though!! lol
Sorry for the rubbish post!!!

I broke my computer so I will only be posting in the library until I get it fixed - so I probably won't be writing very often either!

I don't have enough time to post - I am way too busy. Got 3 essays due in next week so even if I did have time to post properly it would be very boring because all I've been doing is reading - and not interesting reading!
sorry!
oh and I was really sad to see the floodlights at Feethams finally being taken down!

I haven't posted on here for a while because really not a lot has been happening. My flatmate from halls last year stayed with me for a few nights over the weekend cos she just wanted to get away from her flat and ex boyfriend. It was really good actually. I haven't really seen her much since we left halls so it was nice to catch up properly. On Saturday night we went to see Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire with Fiona. IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Such a good film! I think that they did a really good job of it - funny, scary, sad, happy etc. The only thing is why do they always have these endings where everything seems fine and dandy and it is all really cheesy?? Voldemort is back!!!!!!! It isn't happy! It just isnt reflected in the ending!! Other than that I loved the film - definately the best yet!
On Sunday my parents came to visit me. They had been at a wedding in Edinburgh on Saturday so had been staying there for the weekend. Instead of just going straight home they made a little detour to see me. I'm afraid that I was really grumpy because I was feeling really ill and tired, so SORRY MUM AND DAD!!!
Yesterday I went back to Weight Watchers!! I'm sick of being overweight but also of being unhealthy and feeling rubbish cos of what I eat. Met another student there called Jennifer who was so so lovely! I'll have to keep you updated on how I do!

Again I am posting while sitting in the library. This time I have just been preparing for my Early Modern History 1550-1715 (History 2EM) tutorial this afternoon. We are studying the Wars of Religion in France at the moment which is ok but doesn't really make me want to go away and find out more about it!
On another note I am totally excited about the new Harry Potter film! Im a bit nervous in case it is too scary (i am a real idiot when it comes to scary things - even if they aren't that scary.) It really bothers me because I live on my own. Going to see it on Saturday with Fiona who is in my Hist2EM tutorial (the one who told me about the Gaelic lessons). I hope it is a good film because if it isn't i will just cry!!! lol
Also looking forward to The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe which is coming out soon. I'm going to have to read the Narnia books again before I see it though. It has been such a long time since I read them - if in fact I ever did. I think I might just have heard them on tape when I was little!!
Got letters from both Megan and Tina this morning! Yay! Will have to write back to them really soon. I love writing letters - I love getting them more though!! My letters are always very long and very boring!!! A bit like this blog really!!!

Today I had my second Gaelic lesson which was awesome. I'm so bad at it! It is a good laugh though and I have got to meet a few nice people. Had three really really dull lectures today. Was really struggling against sleep in my Early Modern History lecture. Classical Civilisation and Scottish History weren't quite so bad but it was a struggle to concentrate fully.
My Socttish History tutorial yesterday was actually surprisingly good - I really enjoyed it. It was a really complicated topic, but my tutor made it much easier to understand! I've got to say that I didn't really do much else yesterday.
Sunday was interesting because of the church that I went to in the evening, Partick South. It is a church of Scotland but not really a traditional one. I don't think that I will be going back there even though they were nice people, especially the minister and the student, Simon, that they have on placement there from the ICC (International Christian College). They gave me a few ideas for some other churches to try but I might go back to the Tron because it is a very good church - its just the travelling that gets me. I went to Partick Baptist as usual on Sunday morning and it was great to see the friendly faces that I've come to recognise over the past few weeks.
Came across a really good couple of verses today when I was doing my devos this morning and they were 1 Thessalonians ch5 verses 16-18 'Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.' This is often so hard but I think it is something very good to remember. I find it so difficult to be joyful, pray and give thanks even when I don't particularly want to or things seem to be going wrong! But this is what we have to do, even when it is difficult!

In the library just now and very bored. Just had some reading to do for my Scottish History tutorial at 12pm today. Probably should have done it earlier as it was very complicated! Well this has to be the shortest post ever cos I've got to go to said tutorial right now! This day is so boring!

This week has been quite an interesting one.
I started to learn some Gaelic which I am very excited about and also very bad at! I heard about it from my friend Fiona from my History 2EM tutorials who is leading the Beginners Gaelic class. I was so nervous about going but it actually turned out to be really great! I enjoyed myself so much!
It was Christine's birthday on Wednesday so I baked a cake (which actually tasted good - I was quite surprised!) and she came round to the flat so that I could give her her birthday presents. It was really nice to see her cos I haven't seen her for a few weeks now. 15 of us went to La Vita on yesterday night for a meal to celebrate her birthday. It was a really great evening - a chance to catch up with some friends and to meet some of Christine's other friends who I don't really know.
So today was interesting. I went to Scotland vs USA (football not soccer!). Was really excited about the match but was also apprehensive because I had to go on my own. My cousin, Margaret, was meant to come with me but she wasn't able to come. I decided that I was going to go on my own, partly through wanting to and partly because I couldn't find anyone to come with me! I managed to get there ok anyway. One of my other cousins Derek was at the match and I was hoping to see him but we just never quite got round to it. The good thing about a Scottish crowd is that they are definately friendly so I wasn't ever short of having someone to talk to which was nice because it was really a dull match! The USA went ahead on about the 5minute mark with a penalty. Although I didn't see why the penalty was given, I'm sure it was deserved, but the referee did give a lot of silly decisions the USA's way and nothing to Scotland. He did get better later on in the match. Scotland drew level through Webster. I totally was not prepared for that goal, did not see it coming at all!!
I was very excited in the 2nd half when Shaun Maloney came on as a substitute. He first came to my attention I think in 2003 when I was watching Celtic vs Stuttgart and he scored a goal. This is the first time that I have seen him play in the flesh! Very exciting! To be honest he didn't really get a lot to do in the match!
On a local note, Cath was telling me that Clark Keltie played for Darlo today. He has been injured for ages and I must say that I am not one of his biggest fans but it sounds like he did ok - apart from being sent off!! lol but apparently that saved a point for Darlo! His hair is still the same though - BIG mistake!!!!!!
Scores:
Football:
Scotland 1-1 USA
Darlington 1-1 Wycome Wanderers
Argentina 2-3 England (WHY??!)
Rugby:
Scotland 19-23 Argentina
England 26-16 Australia
Not a good results day really!!!

Back in Glasgow now. Had a really great weekend and would have loved to stay for longer! Beth stayed over on Sunday night - more talking! lol In fact we talked until about 3.30am which I think probably wasn't the best idea seeing as Beth had college the next day. On Monday I met up with Sarah at lunchtime. It was really great to catch up with her because we never really keep in contact when I'm in Glasgow and only catch up when I'm at home. Beth joined us after orchestra so it was really nice.
Had to get the train back to Glasgow at 3.30pm. Someone was sitting in my seat so I ended up sitting opposite this really grumpy woman who seemed to think that she had more of a right to be there than anyone else. It was quite entertaining really. A nice Glaswegian couple sat at the table as well so they cancelled out the grumpy woman. Was also very entertained by a VERY cheeky eight year old Irish boy - he was such a terror! Was reading a really great book during the journey - Rachel's Tears by Beth Nimmo and Darrell Scott. It is about a girl - Rachel Joy Scott who was killed in the Columbine High School shooting on 20th April 1999. The book by her parents talks about her, how she 'walked her talk' as a Christian and includes many entries in her journal where she would talk to God. It is a really moving book and well worth the read. I would totally recommend it to anyone!
When I arrived back to my flat I watched the DVD of An Audience With Jonathan Veira. It is really funny and with some really good music on it. It was very entertaining!
I've got uni today and I think that it is going to be a struggle. I'm very tired and I've got three lectures (which I suppose doesn't sound like a lot!). I hope that they aren't too boring today!

So, I'm at home for the weekend! It has been great seeing Mum and Dad (and Hattie of course), getting meals cooked for me (fantastic!) and catching up with my friends. Well yesterday (Saturday) didn't really go totally according to plan - Darlington crashed out of the FA Cup which, although isn't the end of the world, was certainly a bit gutting! As long as they don't crash out of the football league at the end of the season I guess it doesn't matter all that much. We definately deserved the replay and Barnsley only managed to keep hold of their 1-0 lead through some excellent goalkeeping and Darlo's tendency to hit the crossbar or post (grrrrr!). It wasn't really the most thrilling of matches and was made 50 times worse by the fact that it was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING!!!!! Barnsley is a very cold, smelly place! Having said that, I did actually enjoy being back at the football. I miss it so much when I'm in Glasgow - my Saturday afternoons are always so empty!
As yesterday was 5th November there was, of course, the annual fireworks display in South Park. I didn't actually go, but went round to the Ainscoughs' house afterwards for the food!! lol Had a good time talking to Beth - such good talks! lol
It was really great to be back at Geneva Road today. All those familiar faces! I just love being back there. Mark was preaching on Acts 2.40-41 and it was a really good reminder that those who believe in Jesus are seperate from this world - that we have to turn our backs on the things of this world if we trust in Jesus. We cannot have it both ways. Nothing in this life is worth giving up eternity with Jesus!
